Some pairs may be cosmetically mismatched (different style labeling, different base colors) but they're all identical on the inside, where it counts. The Brits are long known for producing excellent quality and fine sounding tubes. The tone these produce has been compared to that of the 50's black plate RCA's. These sound awesome in my Princeton Reverb and Deluxe Reverb and are my new favorites.Nice creamy and fat overdriven tone. Tight bass and smooth top end. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
After having tested thousands of 6V6GTs, I've reached the conclusion that Brimars are the most consistantly reliable and noise/microphonic free of the bunch. I throw fewer of these in the trash than any other brand which results in a lower price to the buyer. These even stand up to the torturous conditions of a JIM KELLEY amp with 500 Volts on the plates!
Excellent in Germinos, Fenders, Dr Zs, and all 6V6 amps.
"These are the best 6V6s I have heard. No doubt. I had a pair of JJs in there and they were loud, could get rather overloaded easily causing a rough overdrive if pushed hard. The Brimars are a bit quieter relative to the Jjs and the breakup is absolutely perfect. I mean this is the real deal. I am very impressed by your recommendation- AND I am going to buy another pair tonight if you have any left in stock, preferably around the same parameters as those tubes. I mean I guess I was fooling myself into thinking that it was the amp with the problems. I've mucked around with a few values to tone it down and it was still roaring with the JJs. It sounds absolutely killer with the only pedal I have tried, the ZVex Box of Rock. But you don't even need it with a humbucker guitar. These tubes are it man. I am done. Search over.
So if you can hold me one more pair of the Brimar 6V6GTYs that you sent me I'll order them tonight. Thanks buddy- and to think if this didnt work I was going to sell the amp!!

"Hello Mike,I just received my 6v6 (RCA) blackplates and the Brimars that you matched for my PR. I really like the Brimars. It has the richness of the RCAs plus a bit of strident edge to it. I almost like them a little more than the RCAs! Thanks. Stan
" "Mike !! You are the man. I just recieved your Brimar 6v6GTY tubes you suggested for my Tweed Deluxe. These are just the sound I have been searching for. Creamy when cranked power tubes. My little deluxe sounds like a mini vintage Marshall. How can I explain the tone...." Like the ultimate creamy chocolate milkshake." No other tubes sound like this through my deluxe everything else was too brittle and biting. Thanks so much! Bob Boitt"
wow those Brimars are head and shoulders over the JJs ... More headroom better cleans and still loads of gain (although I imagine a lot of that is the pre-amp tubes) thanks! Pai Chung
Hey Mike,I just wanted to let you know the 6V6 Brimars I just got from you for my Germino proved to be awesome.

(The Brimars are) Awesome!!!
Something I wish I had done much sooner...More depth, beef, warmth, controled bass, smooth sounding with a nice crisp break up...I put them in a 14 watt 5E3 clone by L'il Dawg.
I had EH's in there after a bad experience with rattling JJ's...Now the amp really shines..
I have an ASAT Classic on the way!! I cant wait to hear it now !!
Thank you so much....NOS from now on!!
